Starting Muay Thai does not require you to already be fit, flexible, or experienced. A good first session is about learning the basic stance, guard, movement, and rhythm while understanding how the class flows.

What to bring

Wear comfortable training clothes, bring water and a towel, and arrive early enough to settle in. If you already own hand wraps and gloves, bring them. If not, ask the gym what equipment is available before your first session.

What you will usually learn first

Expect simple footwork, guard position, straight punches, basic kicks, and conditioning. The goal is not to perform everything perfectly. It is to build a repeatable foundation and learn how to move safely.

The right mindset

Consistency matters more than intensity on day one. Listen to the coach, work at a sustainable pace, and focus on clean technique. Progress comes from showing up, learning, and repeating the basics well.
